SMOOTH SAILING!

  SATURDAY, OCTOBER 6TH., 2018
              SMOOTH SAILING!

While Karl has reoccupied our house
(thank you Karl!) my wife and I have set
out on another adventure for Travelworld.
The sailing on our first day out has been
exceptionally smooth which may be a
surprise to some of you for a couple reasons.
First, we're not in a ship. And we're not
at sea. We have been traveling very close to
the Saint Lawrence Seaway. But we're on a
Martz Bus.
We've gone through all of New York
above Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and a couple
hours in Canada and never felt any bumps in
the road until we hit an area just outside of
Montreal.
Now this has me a bit confused.
I remember being told our Pennsylvania
highways, including I 81, were prone to cracks
and heaves because of the "Spring Thaw
conditions" here in the northeast.
Doesn't New York State get snow anymore?
Or a "Spring Thaw?" How is it the Interstate
in the Empire State is so smooth and bump
free?
And what about Canada!? Surely there's
a winter here. But up until just outside the big
city we were riding on roads as smooth as a
cloud!
I'm not sure what the secret is but I'm
hoping someone in Pennsylvania will find out!
Maybe they can use that extra gas tax money to
investigate!
Hope your ride is smooth and your NEWS
is good!
