Play Time!

I had to cut my morning walk a bit short
yesterday. About a mile instead of the usual
two.
I feared it was too little exercise.
    I was wrong.
My three-year-old grand daughter came by
for a visit. And that meant a trip to the "Spare
Room."
Although it serves as a space for sleepovers
for grand kids or guests the Spare Room is also
our repository for the family toy collection.
Here you'll find an assortment of cars,
animals, Legos, and character figures from
our Fisher Price collection, Charlie Brown
Camping set, and Sesame Street.
Making a decision as to which to play with
would be difficult for most any child.
The grand daughter has found a simple
solution. She plays with them all!
Anxious to share in her entertainment and
enjoyment the wife and I do the unthinkable.
We join her on the floor.
For those of us now actively using our
Social Security cards......the floor is a long
way down! Once there you'll quickly learn
there is no comfortable spot.
That is especially true when you discover
Big Bird's Beak pressing into the small of your
back!
Then there's the Doll House! It's made to
last....which means it's heavier than many Bar
Bell sets but too attractive to kids to be
resisted. I often wonder if a Giant Redwood
gave its life for this structure!
Eventually, of course, you'll face an even tougher
challenge. Getting back up! No Fitness Program
provides a workout like this!
You will then discover that those tiny people,
autos, and animals you were interacting with just
minutes before are incapable of putting themselves
back into the drawers! And they worry about "Child
Labor!"
That's when the repetitions of deep knee bends
begin!
       Play time can be tough!
I figure a nap will help......for me that is!
Hope all your toys are picked up and put away
and that all your NEWS is good!
