SOME WERE CHICKEN!

   SUNDAY, JANUARY 12TH., 2020
          SOME WERE CHICKEN!

We were just short of standing room only
at our annual church "Beast Feast" Saturday
night. An extra table in the back room
saved the evening!
The annual dinner features the bounty
from some of the avid hunters who are
members or friends of our church. We've
got some good hunters!
The menu featured items like a trout
dip, venison roast and bar-b-q, peasant,
smoked antelope minute steaks, venison
hot dogs with beans, Mule deer tacos,
pickled deer heart, and a few other treats
plus deserts!
Even though the feast has grown
ever increasing crowds (it's a free
dinner by the way) there are those who
are reluctant to partake of "game meat."
I've always loved it myself which
makes for a challenge  since I don't
hunt.
       Those "game shy individuals"
were not ignored. Chicken was among
the options offered for them. That seems
a little bit ironic. How many times have
you heard somebody offering game
meat who tell you "it tastes just like
chicken?"
I can tell you you'd be hard pressed
to tell the difference between the
venison roast and Angus served up the
same way!
And one thing is certain! Nobody
left hungry!
Hope we can find more space next
year and that all your NEWS is good.
