Selling From Your Sofa!

I've become quite a merchant over the
past couple months.
It began with the decision to sell our
camper. With that came the realization
that other items would have to go "on
the market" too!
There was the camper deck, the fire
wood, a propane supply, the paddle
boat, and an electric trolling motor.
Back in the day you'd post a "For
Sale" sign on the camper and schedule
a Yard Sale for everything else.
But, as my daughter, who is a yard
sale expert,  pointed out there are new
opportunities these days!
Craig's List has become the Walmart
of the internet! If it isn't for sale there it
probably hasn't been manufactured yet.
     But Craig's List doesn't have a
monopoly in the field.
There's now a Wyoming Valley Yard
Sale site on Facebook. There's another one
that covers a Tri County area, and still
another where people from nearby Broom
County New York can peddle their old
toasters and TV's.
It's kind of neat because it allows you
to sell stuff from your sofa!
We decided to go "multi media." We
put all the items on all the sites and added
a "For Sale Sign" on the Paddle Boat too.
The camper, and trolling motor went
fast. A camping neighbor grabbed the
Paddle Boat and some prime fire wood,
while still another neighbor needed the
propane. Some other folks took the
disassemble deck to be reassembled
somewhere else.
Before you knew it I was going back
to all the sites to pull the items which were
sold!
I feel like a merchant who just closed
up his shop! Maybe I'll buy a couple things
just to put them up for sale!
Who needs Malls when we've got
the Internet and a Laptop ?
Hope you find some bargains and that
all your NEWS is good!
